About Us

This group is for students interested in water quality in the environment, wastewater treatment, water pollution control and reuse, and their related issues. As a chapter we provide students with avenues for professional development and exchange of information between chapter members and members of WEAO through meetings and seminars that discuss technologies and methods used in the industry networking events with students and professionals involved with the water and wastewater industries. Guided visits to various sites (past visits include wastewater treatment plants, industrial sites, and qualification centers).

Our Activities

Monthly meetings
As a student chapter we have one-hour meetings once a month to talk about diverse topics in which our community has expressed interest. Each meeting consists of two presentations – one by an industry professional, another by a student or academic – about water/wastewater and related topics.

Networking events and industrial site visits
Apart from the chapter activities, as student members of WEF/WEAO we can attend seminars and industrial site visits organized by WEAO at no charge. Networking events offer the opportunity to interact with seasoned and new professionals in the industry throughout the year.
