Planning is underway for the 2027 Ontario Water & Wastewater Conference & Trade Show, jointly hosted by the Ontario Water Works Association (OWWA) and the Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO).
Taking place May 10–13, 2027 at Exhibition Place in Toronto, the Joint Conference will bring together more than 2,000 water and wastewater professionals from across Ontario and beyond for technical learning, knowledge sharing, collaboration and connection.
The accompanying trade show is expected to feature more than 200 exhibitors, showcasing the latest technologies, equipment, products and services supporting the drinking water and wastewater sector.
With the Call for Abstracts now open and the newly redesigned 2027 Sponsorship Program officially live, there are several ways to become part of the 2027 conference experience, whether you are looking to share expertise, build industry connections or position your organization at the centre of Ontario’s water, wastewater, stormwater and biosolids community.
Share Your Expertise: Call for Abstracts Now Open
The Call for Abstracts for the 2027 OWWA & WEAO Joint Conference is now open, with proposals due October 9, 2026.
Share your expertise. Inspire your peers. Help shape the future of Ontario’s water sector.
Industry professionals, researchers, utilities, consultants, regulators, manufacturers, suppliers and innovators are invited to submit abstracts for consideration in the 2027 technical program.
The conference is expected to include nearly 200 presentations across a broad range of drinking water, wastewater and cross-cutting topics, highlighting practical solutions, operational experience, research, innovation and emerging industry trends.
Presentations are encouraged that:
- Highlight innovative ideas, technologies and approaches to solving industry challenges.
- Share practical experience, lessons learned and case studies from real-world applications.
- Present leading-edge research, emerging trends and best practices.
- Inspire discussion and collaboration across the drinking water and wastewater community.
Technical streams span a wide range of areas, including water treatment and distribution, groundwater, source water protection, asset management, automation and digital solutions, climate change, construction, emerging issues, public engagement and education, water reuse, collection systems, operations, residuals and biosolids, stormwater, wastewater treatment and technologies, and university research.
All presentations should be educational in nature and focused on technical content, practical experience or lessons learned. Presentations that are primarily promotional or sales-oriented will not be considered.
Submission of a full technical paper is optional and is not required for consideration in the 2027 technical program. Presenters who choose to submit a paper will have the opportunity to have it published on the WEAO and OWWA websites and to participate in a fall 2027 webinar series to further share and promote their work.

Many opportunities have already been selected through the returning-sponsor priority-access program, but valuable sponsorship opportunities remain available across a range of sponsorship levels.
Organizations interested in participating are encouraged to review the sponsorship prospectus and secure their preferred opportunities early, as sponsorships will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
