the successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of technical, operational, and

wastewater collection and treatment systems.

As Great Lakes Monitoring Unit Supervisor, you will lead one of Ontario’s premier environmental monitoring programs. Leading a team of scientific, technical, and field professionals, you will help drive innovation, provide strategic advice to senior decision-makers, and ensure that scientifically rigorous information supports environmental protection and policy decisions across the province. You will work closely with policy, science, compliance, operations and reporting partners across the ministry to address emerging issues and advance Ontario’s environmental priorities. You will also oversee the stewardship, quality assurance, interpretation and reporting of long-term environmental monitoring datasets that support provincial reporting, trend analysis, public accountability and evidence-based decision-making. The Instrumentation and System Control Technologist will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and control of various water and wastewater processes by programming, configuring, and troubleshooting SCADA systems as well as provide technical support for the Township’s SCADA infrastructure. The position is responsible for managing SCADA components of water and wastewater capital projects, including administration, review of the engineering specifications, coordinating installation, and commissioning the installation and programming of SCADA infrastructure.
