Centrifugal Pumps and Pumping Systems Seminar

Centrifugal Pumps and Pumping Systems Seminar

The purpose of the seminar is to educate students and young professionals in the selection, design and operation of pumps and pumping systems in the water and wastewater industry. The design process discussion will focus on development of a system curve, evaluating and understanding pump performance curves, power and cost optimization and pumping arrangements. An overview of different types of pumping technology and their applications will also be presented.

The seminar will include a discussion of the operation of centrifugal pumps. A fully functioning "Glass Faced" pump will be used to illustrate and explain the concepts of suction cavitation, recirculation cavitation, discharge cavitation, and in-field trouble-shooting. The seminar will be interactive and pose questions to the audience.
